Patrick Higgy [dot] com is my website for housing original writing. I write from the deep South—where the air hangs heavy and memory never quite dries out. My work lives at the crossroads of grief and grit, blending Southern Gothic hauntings with the quiet hum of rusted industry and overgrown backroads.

I’m a widower, a father, and a lifelong observer of the strange poetry buried in ordinary days. My words have been called atmospheric, relentless, and tender in all the ways that hurt. I write because it helps me hold still long enough to feel everything I’d otherwise outrun.

When I’m not writing, I’m riding backroads on my motorcycle, I’m chasing horizon lines on my motorcycle, turning over big thoughts with a black coffee or a neat pour of something stronger, or getting lost in books that weigh more than they lift.

This space was where I started unpacking it all: the haunted beauty of living, the ache of what’s gone, and the sharp edges that keep us awake. If any of that sounds like home to you, pull up a chair at my substack table.
